ISYB + Liberty London | Collaboration

Although I've only visited once - to see some carved wooden gargoyles - even I can recognise a print from Liberty London when I see one. They're bold, colourful, and often quirky.

Fortunately, for those who like them, they seem to be on display in a fair few places now - not just their (justifiably) busy store in Soho. Last year we spotted some Christys' caps flying the Liberty prints and, this year, it's I Sunk Your Battleship who've added a Liberty print or five to their collection.

These bright tees, with the Liberty print pocket, are just what you need for the summer - when your standard uniform of black and grey is becoming a little too out-of-place.

They're a good price and made in Britain too. What's not to love?!

Check out the full range here.

One to watch | Faute De Mieux

Norwich. A home to good pubs and the country's hottest yellow paste, but perhaps not a place that brings clothing to mind.

Why not? Why not indeed. Brands spring up everywhere these days and that's great. More variety to choose from, more interesting designs, styles, looks, and everything else we want.

It keeps me writing, anyway.

Faute De Mieux are a small brand with a nice, simple product. Well-fitting t-shirts that give you a little bit more tone than you might otherwise carry. Perfect for the gym or the summer months.

Keep an eye-out for these guys as they grow and develop their range. We certainly will!

I Sunk Your Battleship: T-shirts with style, made in the UK

The staple t-shirt is something that lines every wardrobe. A collection of grey tops that can be worn often and replaced without huge expense.

The problem is, they're usually replaced a little more often than most of us would like. Quickly out of shape after a few washes, it's back to the high street to load up on a handful more.

Buy cheap, buy twice - as the old saying goes.

What about a staple for a few pounds more though? And not just a dull grey staple either. Something with a bit more variety, a better cut, and some decent designs to choose from.

For £30, the t-shirts from I Sunk Your Battleship (cool name!) are a stylish set and aren't going to break the bank.

It's not all they do - there's a good looking range of hoodies and some colourful beanies - but it's a good t-shirt that always catches my eye.

Oh, and did I mention, they're made in the UK too?

Available online they're definitely a brand worth checking out now and one to keep an eye on for the future too...so get following them on Twitter.

American Apparel | Wardrobe staples made in the USA

Everyone has staples they turn to, especially when it comes to t-shirts. American Apparel is mine. Issues with the previous guy in charge now resolved, they offer good t-shirts at a decent price.

Their tri-blend short sleeve t-shirt is one with a nice slim shape to it, yet thankfully isn't as tight as the 'muscle hugging' varieties out there. It has a high neckline too: one that's high enough just to be seen when wearing a round-neck jumper and doesn't crease or ruffle.

Perhaps not a t-shirt you can wear for every occasion - it wouldn't pass the Sunspel test of looking good with shoes, but then again, few do - it's definitely one that can be worn with pretty much anything else.

American Apparel are always offering 10-15% discounts when you buy online; so go on, fill that cupboard!
